"anyone who makes buy or sell choices based on Maria or anyone else's commentary on the day should have their heads examined"

"Agreed 100%...but obviously a lot of people do it--the next time she's pimping a stock, watch it fly on your quote system."

There are lots of gullible investors out there who will buy or sell on Maria's comments, on Faber's, on Kernan's, etc. That's life. However, a goodly percentage of criticism on this thread seems dedicated to making CNBC take responsibility for investor gullibility.

As has been said, it is important to report a rumor when that rumor is moving a stock. That reportage is then criticized as if CNBC is an accomplice in spreading the rumor.

IMO, CNBC is pretty much balanced in its coverage. Where's all the criticism of Raging Bull for all that penny stock hyping that goes on there? Just read the board and marvel at the gullibility of the typical penny stock (investor?) speculator.
