Petz,

Hehe, love the idea, except instead of the Intel team getting out of synch and not rowing correctly maybe it would be better for them to be kind of like olympic teams with an announcer that says something like...

"What is this?... The teams have just shown up for the meet and it looks like the Intel team has drilled large holes in their paddles, I guess they think that the holes will create less water resistance and will allow them to paddle faster with less effort. Very interesting we will just have to see how well that works for them."

Then the race starts and the Intel team paddles well and does indeed paddle faster but since they aren't pushing water they hardly go anywhere while AMD pulls swiftly away and the announcer says.

"Well folks the Intel team is indeed paddling faster but it appears that they aren't going anywhere, I guess those holes weren't such a good idea after all, and look at AMD go! they are literally zipping to the finish line."

That way the customer can see a simple real world analogy to what Intel did to the P4 and will hopefully get the message that faster clock speed (paddling) is worthless unless some actual work (getting to the finish line) gets done. In any event I think it is important for the customer to see the Intel team actually paddle faster but also see it not do them any bit of good.

And then to hammer the point home the announcer could review and say.

"Well folks it looks like team AMD's solid engineering and good old earnest performance beats team Intel's ill-advised performance tricks..."

or something like that. :)

PS: and hopefully a few consumers will take the commercial a little too literally and directly associate holes with Intel chips and think they are getting "more" if they buy AMD chips. LOL :)

<Another cute idea is to make JERRY one of the oarsmen>

This might actually work. Hollywood Jerry on TV, he'll go for that!

Dave
