Ted: Story in the Toronto Star this morning about the native Inuit band in the Alaska Preserve which is ready to fight Bush over drilling for oil there;.. mentions how oil drills and pipelines really hurt the caribou herd.. also mentions how the territorial Yukon Government up there and the Canadian Federal Environment Minister strongly opposes it.. I didnt know this.. but there are 2 parks on the Canadian side of the border that were created to protect the main caribou herd that this band is raising concerns about.. it sounds like they are in adjacent areas to the proposed drilling site.. (giving Canada another reason to be involved in this - in case Steve HArris needed another reason why we are "meddling" in US affair :) )
