Steven,

"The courts have the right to tell the majority that we can't have what they want, and that is one of the cornerstones of our freedom. An unrestrained majority can be a very dangerous thing."

No question, and many matter have, and will be, won by the minority. Still the sky has always been blue, and if the minority wants to call it green, then the majority will stop them. Courts or not. Again, pick your battles, and pick ones you can win. If your battle is to have homosexuality labeled normal, then you are going to lose. Is it not better to pick a battle that can be won? Maybe in a 100 more years this battle can be fought.

"A hard thing to do when someone's beating on your head."

No debate. More severe, and enforced, penalties for hate crimes. I have no problem with it. It protects everyone, not just gays. You are never going to get rid of predators. They are a reality. Ignore reality at your own peril. Even if labeled "normal" there will be someone somewhere that does wrong. It is going to happen to women, and children, and even the white collar guy in the corner office (who just happened to not promote some other white, white-collar guy who thought he had it coming). Again, no real answer here.

I have no problem with your word selection. Different is fine. Yes, people are going to judge. They always have, and they always will. This goes back to a point I made that seems to only be fitting in one direction for you. That is they can't change you, and you can't them.

The solution is to find a way to have a good life, a safe life. I engage in "abnormal" behavior. We all do. Why does it have to be on your shirtsleeve. Why does it have to be "ok"?

My whole point is simple. Pick battles you can win, and this whole "normal" battle is going to go against the nature of a majority. Get equal pay, get joint health care, get anti-descrimination laws, get stronger hate crimes, pass gun laws for non-felons to carry so you can protect yourself when the parasite surprises you on your doorstep. Stop trying to find a answer in a label, and everything you think that label will bring.

Stop trying to convince the people who know its not normal that it is. Accept that is not "normal", because its not. Don't turn your back on the truth of nature. You seem to be a bright person. Accept that there is nothing wrong with not being normal. Accept that normal is boring, and not a goal worthy of your effort.

and win.

HAGO
