Hi Whitey,

Your trip sounds great. Try your best to remember the stories these heroes tell you while you are there.
I'd love to hear them.

I always regret not talking to my grandparents about this stuff while they were still here.
I often talked to my grandfather about the depression and old time baseball.
I wish I would have written down some of his stories.

Whitey: If any of the docs are still alive, ask them about the changes in medicine which they have seen. Dad told us that the sulfa drugs, the first antibiotics, came out while he was an intern, and, during his army time, but as a resident in the world, they were eagerly awaiting this new drug named Penicillin. Also told us, as my brother and I studied Watson/Crick in HS biology in '60, how they had studied the gene in med school. Been a few changes in their careers.
