Gemini, I'm an Architect :-), So my question is whether this AMLJ device is a key component of an OC-192 optical network like an optical switch, optical amplifier or an optical router? and if not, will this one device significantly add to AML communication future revenues?

Looks to me like AMLJ revenues are derived from the sales of wireless communication equipment and this is an RF microwave device that talks to an optical signal. Keep me updated on AMLJ I'm definitely interested in the future developments of this microcap company. john

I saw the conversation about A*MLJ, and just thought I'd throw my two cents in... This is a company in transition. They are an engineering shop trying to become more of a manufacturer, and that isn't easy. I suspect they are still having growing pains, but they're getting closer to solving these problems. They have a substantial backlog, but it may be a while before it's all material to revenues and earnings.

They have a core business in PCS and cellular. There's plenty of opportunities in this old business. They are entering new markets, including components for optical systems. It's a new, fragmented kind of business, and I think they are trying to get their hands around its potential. They've only shipped some small quantities in this new business, so I'd advise patience.

Just to clarify, from what I understand, the company does NOT make optical filters like JDS Uniphase. They don't make optical switches. They simply make electronic components that fit INTO optical systems. This is all early stage stuff, and I'll be watching for the next q due out soon so we can see how it's all going.
