Dear Bobby and all: I actually think this slowdown was in fact promulgated by the HUGE buildup in money supply late in 1999 in preparation of Y2K. Of course all the problems never occurred and the Fed had to take that EXCESS out of the market over time so money gradually tightened all during 2,000. That, IMHO is why things went down hill from April on. I do think AG overstepped the boundaries with that last 50 basis point increase and that has now been reversed. Presuming they will continue reversing over time That is one of the reasons I feel that 2001 will ultimately be a much better year then current Pundits say. JDN

PS: For Haim to say that BUSH had anything AT ALL to do with this slowdown is PREPOSTOROUS and only shows how DESPERATE the anti Bush people are to find fault with him. Its this finger pointing and blame BS started by Clinton to divide and conquer is why I detested him so and always will.

BB, I think the cycle was due in Q4 1999 not 2000.
