Doug, Thanks for the link. I had comet cursor mysteriously appear on my machine a while back. When I first saw it I thought it was a windows upgrade so I said ok. After installation I deleted the shortcut and took it out of the start up items.

i remember, plus i searched back and that helped jog the brain cells. you had an offender on your machine called NET TOOB, i think. #reply-14013868

i see that more than a few folks had probs with comet cursor. your zdnet link is a good one. thanks for the followup!
