Mike he is right there is a big difference between "productivity" and effiecency. Businesses got more efficent by a long shot people more productive by much less than advertised. Case in point - Hardware store has one cashier one customer service guy - Sales 200,000 per quarter inventory about the same, margins 10% interest expenses $4,000 per quarter, gross profits $20,000. They went to the self service model and just in time supply - sales moved to $600,000 per quarter, margin drop to 5% or $30,000 interest expenses slightly higher $6,000 the only person who got more productive is the cashier and the customer service guy has not. That is my point in a very simplistic way. Haim
