Just a casual observation: Seems like there have been a lot of $2 moves both ways in the spot POG this last week. Usually volatility suggests a high or low point in the cycle.

At times in the recent past reduction in spread between spot & futures foretold of a coming move, but not up or down.IMHO the recent moves up in XAU provide confirmation for an up move. One would think today's negative lease rates would suggest something else though, unless there is less demand for leased gold from the miners.
