SnapTrack Awarded Patent

I caught part of an interview of Ellen (sic) Bartz, CEO of Autodesk, this morning on CNBC. The entire interview was about new software that Autodesk is selling related to providing wireless tracking services (directions, restaurants, etc.). She said that the software is for the base stations and their first big partner is ERICY.

She also said that the two markets they are concentrating on right now are Europe and Japan because they ave the sophisticated phones that will be able to use this service. She said it won't be available in the U.S. until next year when 2.5g and 3g phones begin to become available.

One of the things that was curious to me is that 2.5g and 3g phones are not in Europe yet, and only coming to Japan sometime this year.

I could not tell if this new software complements, competes with, or is unrelated to what SnapTrac does. Did anyone else see the interview and able to shed more light on what this is about?

P.S. When asked if there was a market for wireless tracking services, she mentioned very big numbers for future cellphone customers with a substantial number wanting and using wireless tracking services.
