I don't think anyone really gets it. LDT, Infiniband, PCI-X, etc. are all targeting different areas of the system. It's not an either-or proposition: I can envision systems which efficiently incorporate all three standards at the same time.

Of course, that's not going to stop the supporters of one technology from lift up their standards as the "Great Unifying Standard." NGIO was going to be it. Then Infiniband. Now it's LDT. I've heard it all before.

AMD announced the LDT = Long Delay Time - almost 15 months ago.

The latest road map I saw shows that the LDT won't even be part of any AMD system until the Hamster Series - which means about 18 months from now - assuming they can get it to work at all.
