Bob,

I have heard that there is a new name for the ODBMS division. The new name is .... "Object Design". (I wonder how they thought that one up).

There is a web-based discussion board for developers, which is a move in the right direction.

What I find confusing is the contuning repositioning of the ODBMS and B2B products as completely different offerings, from organizations with different names. This probably helps with people who have never heard of the company before (and let's face it, that's 99% of the potential market), but from a developer perspective it discourages the idea that "if the DBMS is a good product then the B2B products should also be".

I suppose one shouldn't complain about a move that makes the product positioning clearer to new prsopects -- so long as there are some other initiatives to get a message across to those prospects.
