I'm not sure about the other two problems but the printer driver update is easy enough. Here's the driver you should need.

thanks for the cool little exercise there ("type hwinfo /ui into the run box and click the button"). i like it.

fyi, i have the exact same "problem" with my primary ide controller as you do! the driver info and file versions, etc are all the same. i wouldn't be surprised if others discovered the same thing. must be an explanation, but i don't know it at this point!

saw your reply to tc about the printer working fine. good idea to let it be, then, don't you agree?

as for DeviceDesc: IRQ Holder for PCI Steering, i'd have to spend some more time with that...
