"...the mobile OFDM solution is probably many years away..."
----------

I think this is probably very true.

From the OFDM Forum - ofdm-forum.com

There are 3 Working Groups:

Fixed Wireless Access - target markets residential, small business
NOK, ERICY, Alcatel, Wi-Lan active here.
Working Group appears reasonably active.

Wireless LAN
Philips, Infineon, Samsumg, Wi-Lan active here.
Working Group seems reasonably active.

Broadband Mobile Wireless
Wi-Lan, TCFI, 4G Networks stated as active here.
Group does not appear active - no proposals or documents in progress are available.

Very interesting to me is that I can't find Flarion Technology listed as an OFDM Forum member.

The prospect that Flarion Technology is not an OFDM Forum member would, for me, add plausibility to any speculation that there could be a present or future Q connection.....
