I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!...that's where I'm from as well, which is why I had thought the reference to McMansions was just too coincidental...on the heating issue, most of these homes are using a combination of radiant heat (even on the marble stairs!) and forced hot air with a connect to a fulltime humidifier and multiple zones....Maryland sounds like a nice change of pace....have a brother in law that moved from Bergen County to Kentucky and what he used to pay in real estate taxes he now pays the same amount for the mortgage on a house that's about twice the size, but then again, location is everything.
