"SanDisk's other licensees pay royalties biannually."

I should say that some SNDK licensees pay biannually.

Aus, don't forget the $2M payment from SNDK to LEXR for SmartMedia patent licensing. Assuming that both payments were made last Q, the net amount is $6M not $8M. I think both amounts will show up in the financials in different places rather than a single $6M.

Aus,

The royalty revenues are too much of a riddle for me, at least until I get some history. I know they have contracts based on revenue, with a cap, and then an eventual adjustment to actual sales. But the timing, per licensee, is a mystery. So, in my mind at least, that's a wild card.

I'm pretty confident in their sell through, of SanDisk manufactured product, at retail. Their practice of not recognizing revenue until it is sold through retail subtracts from 3Q and adds to 4Q. I would be very surprised if they didn't have a great 4th quarter.

Let's hope Mr. Market is in a good mood on Thursday, especially after Mr. Greenspan speaks.
