OT ... Miltary Readiness ...

Hi Iso! I live in a military town. The Army's Fort Jackson is a stone's throw away from me. The Air Force's Shaw Air Force Base and a National Air Guard base are within 30 miles of my home.

I know a lot of military people and I know how low military morale has been under Klinton.

On a positive note though, a lot of military people were prepared to get out of the military if Gore won. Perhaps these dedicated people will decide to stay in now.

BTW, an Air Force pal took my son and I down to Shaw to fly in the F-15 simulator, the same one the pilots train in. I got to meet the pilots that led the first attack against the Iraqi ground forces in Kuwait. When my pal announced to the group that a former Marine was present, it sent a chill up my back to watch these officers snap to attention.

I got to shoot down a MIG after crashing a dozen times. I picked up the nickname "Crash" and they joked about it being a good thing I was a Marine and not an Air force pilot.

Good people! I'm amazed at how many good people are willing to sacrifice to become a part of our military.
