This whole content management thing is turning into a confusing set of terminology. Companies like Documentum and FileNet are application software providers. NTAP is a platform provider,including enabling technology.

We'll have to work on this some more.

I know this reply is only 4 weeks after the initial conversation but what the heck, was curious to see what you've been up to.

Re FileNET - I would think that you are quite correct in your appraisal, more revenue from imaging and workflow than content management.

Hummingbird would be the same. In the larger DM players group, I think only DCTM has really made any significant movement in the content management space, although some of the smaller players might have.

An aside, the imaging business has been very steady. DM and imaging continue to pay the bills, ou firm on track for a record year. Actually a surprising amount of imaging business.

Much of it later being hosted on the web...
