Tom, my background is a power system engineer, but not a nuclear expert. I know just enough to know that: 1. The current nuclear technology is both expensive and less than foolproof. 2. It is possible to develop a fail-safe nuclear system, but even with best efforts and adequate funding we are years away from a significant new nuclear contribution. 3. We will reach the limits of natural gas supply sooner than most people think we will, in fact I expect serious nationwide shortages within two years.
