The Light Management Group Inc. - Announcement

BURLINGTON, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2000--The Light Management Group Inc. (OTCBB:LMGR - news) is very pleased to announce that at its upcoming December 20 industry demonstration, the Company will debut the world's first commercial fiber-optic switch based on its acousto-optic technology.

``This switch is a major innovation in the industry,'' says LMGR President Don Iwacha, ``and it should have great impact in telecommunications, data transmission, and internet technology.''

This device, originally designed by LMGR Chief Engineer Gennadii Ivtsenkov, Ph.D, can form the basis of an optimal fiber-optical line communication network. The optical lines employing LMGR's proprietary commutator can carry 10 Gigabytes of information per second, in comparison to 50 Kbits over phone lines -- i.e., two million times as quickly. LMGR's Fiber-Optical Line Switch does not have any mechanical parts and uses the electronically and computer controlled acousto-optical deflector set, which can randomly connect the channels from the array to the single fiber-optical line, resulting in extremely fast switching times - of not more than a few microseconds. The commutator can be inverted randomly, connecting any single line from the input array with the single output line.

``This switch is quite something,'' says Iwacha. ``The LMGR switch is extremely compact, and can be easily modified to fit the requirements of end-users. This acousto-optic switch resolves one of the major bottlenecks surrounding all-optical network systems.''

Says LMGR CEO and Chairman Barrington Simon, ``We believe that LMGR's Fiber-Optic Switch is a most significant advance. It is commercially viable now, and we are ready to take orders.''

The demonstration will be held at the Burlington Convention Centre's Tyandaga Room, 1120 Burloak Drive in Burlington, Ontario. ``This December 20 event is specifically aimed at the fiber-optic industry,'' says Iwacha. ``LMGR management expects to conduct other, more general briefings early in 2001, including one to be held at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibit in Anaheim, California this coming March.''

LMGR is a Nevada corporation specializing in the development of new applications of optical and light technologies. LMGR's breakthrough technology employs sound waves to focus and direct lasers.

This ain't an opto, but it's an oldie you brought to these boards way back in the 90's -- CLRT -- traded over 34M today, after 10M yesterday, and after announcing a marketing agreement with Unysis only a week ago, and without a lot of movement -- CLRT.

Gary,

ADOT a cheapie

PHGN In the medical field and on the fringe of this area. I have never owned, but will check out further. It looks very promising.

PHMD The same as the above.

PCTH Yeah, they make areospace parts, but they just received a contract for telecom fiber optics products. The negative is that they keep issuing shares.

PHOX Too cheap, and I am not sure this company is viable any longer.

PHTO One of yours.

BGC Fiber optic cable company. Stock would be much higher, but debt load heavy. Just sold the european operations to Pirelli of Italy. I have played this stock a few times primarily because I did not see anything else I wanted to buy.

Gary, I picked up another fiberoptic play MOYC (Moyco Technologies on the Nasdaq Small Cap Mkt.). Closed at 2.875 up 15% on 2.5x avg. daily volume. The range is 8 to 1.125. 5 mil. shares outstanding with 61% insider held. Q1/01 EPS $.09 vs. $.04 LY. Significant growth from fiberoptic polishing films made by its precision abrasives division which was rolled out last year. Q1/01 revenues from this division was up 70% to $2.4 million. MOYC is investing in product development for this market. They are divesting their dental supplies biz. for $17 million and expect to pay a CASH dividend of $1.35 per share! What do you think? Regards.
