Aus - Remeber this post:- Message 15126583

Oh I hope there are still plenty of shorts out here and I hope they get well and trully whacked when the earnings come out.

I don't like to see other people losing in the market but I make an exception for shorts.

If we do get a big pop my guess is that we will see a pullback very quickly afterwards probably by Friday latest.

Eli has always said he wanted to build a big company. Inredible thatt he nmarket dropeed the price as it did, incredible how P/Es became irrelevant on the downside jusat as they had on the upside.

Best regards,

L

<<Don't you think this volatility washed out most of the shorts when
we rebounded upwards in mid-December? Do you think shorts re-established
positions shortly after this rise? Why wouldn't they have covered
when we went into the low $20's?>>

I think we picked up some new ones when the gap was filled, (they) anticipating SNDK would resume downward again. I think they are having a change of heart<gg>.

Why is different from if. I think they should have covered if they were smart, I just don't think they did. Most of the longs who wanted to/needed to get out, were out by the time the stock hit the 20s. There were over 2 million shares short before the Merrill nonsense; I bet that there was very heavy shorting on the Merrill announcement, and that the short position spiked (at least briefly). We should get the short numbers tomorrow.
