SEBL -- Mercator Software Joins Siebel Alliance Program -- Mercator E-business Broker Suite Earns Siebel Validation

(Nasdaq: MCTR - news), a leading provider of software that integrates electronic information throughout business enterprises, today announced it has joined the Siebel Alliance Program as a software partner. In addition, Siebel Systems (Nasdaq: SEBL - news), the world's leading provider of eBusiness applications software, has validated the integration between the Mercator E-Business Broker Suite version 5.0 and Siebel eBusiness 2000 through the Siebel Validation Program.

Siebel Systems has validated the integration of Mercator E-Business Broker Suite with Siebel eBusiness Applications through the following interfaces:

-- Siebel EAI (eBusiness Application Integration) via XML-based

interfaces

-- Siebel EIM (Enterprise Integration Manager), the Siebel Server

component that supports asynchronous movement of volumes of data

into and out of the Siebel database

-- Siebel Object Interfaces via COM Data Server-a real-time interface

to Siebel Business Components and Objects

Mercator also announced two Siebel-specific enhancements to its Mercator E-Business Broker Suite, a COM Business Object Importer and a COM Business Object Adapter. These new product enhancements enable Mercator customers to more effectively integrate with Siebel eBusiness Applications.
