Hi limtex, OTOT

Re.See how so much "culture" has gravitated to New York and California from the cultural heaven of Europe, and why?

No longer the case in recent decades. What you said was true in the early half of the 20th century in visual arts and literature.

Morning Limtex,

Was going to say, "the sun's out, the sky's not falling today", due to the R-UIM announcement today. I think we now know why 1X has not rolled out quickly in Korea. The 5105 chipset has it all, and coming to a phone near you soon. Worth waiting a little while for.

But it is pretty clear you already saw that, got way too excited, and probably shouldn't have had that third cup of coffee (The art and culture worlds are the great whores of huan history).

I do have to disagree that the artists follow the money. In fact, in recent years in the Mountain West, it is the opposite. The art community has "discovered" most of the really cool places (Taos, Jackson, Park City, even Aspen), made them into desirable places, and then been run out by your upper class who move in, and drive the prices through the roof.

As an aside, I am having trouble understanding how California can be having energy crisis when it seems all Los Angeles has invaded the Utah mountains for the Sundance Film Festival. I find it great sport to watch the "people in black" try to walk on snow covered sidewalks with Starbucks in one hand and cell phones in the other. Saw a great wipeout on Main Street yesterday.
