The reports I'm seeing indicate this three buck drop off of the auction is MORE FUND SHORT SELLING. Is this insane or what? Let's see as of 1/16 they were net short 41% of open interest. Anybody care to hazard a guess about how many more short contracts would be required to lean on this market right now? 10,000?(would bring it up to 50% of OI), 20,000? (55% of OI), 30,000? (60% of OI). We will know Friday when the COT comes out. Should be a stunner, as it looks like they are trying (in effect) to short corner the gold market. Remember attempted long corners like H.L. Hunt (during my time)? Jay Gould (before all our times)?
