Greg, this is something that I have been trying to say for a little while here. This has been a great opportunity for separating the wheat from the chaff. It will cause enterprises to evaluate their suppliers more closely so that they do pick the company that has staying power and this in turn will cause investment money to gravitate to the good stocks. Further, as the world economies become more intertwined, a cyclical weakness here in the states can be offset by strength in another region that is in a different phase. An example here would be the virtual explosion in the buildout of the telecommunications infrastructure in Asia-Pacific.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Hi Gregster,

I believe you are right. And I don't believe that AG could head off a downturn with a 25bp move (or even 50 for that matter). You also make a good point about communications and inventory, however that can be a two-edged sword for suppliers when the economy is contracting.

But I don't buy the notion that we are immune from potentially a protracted downturn, especially if the "boomers" (who control most of the spending in this country) decide that the "wealth effect" was a mere figment of their collective imaginations.<vbg>

Hi greg welcome, I sold 1/2 my position yesterday of NTAP lucky move I will look to add in the mid 50s. Do you think sebl has room to move with the great earnings, I bot it before earnings because I did not realize earnings were around the corner, something you taught me never to do. I was so scared that I blew it in that one.
