JDS Uniphase, SDL see merger completion in February WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2001 4:03:00 PM EST SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan 24 (Reuters) - Fiber-optic component makers JDS Uniphase Corp. JDSUJDU and SDL Inc. SDLI said on Wednesday they expect to complete their merger in February, due to delays related to the regulatory approval process. The two top players in the industry said last month they expected the merger to be completed this month, citing U.S. antitrust scrutiny of the deal. JDS Uniphase said in a statement it had proposed a remedy to respond to U.S. Department of Justice concerns. The deal was valued at $41 billion when announced in July, but has since been valued at about $25 billion.
