Does this mean that there will be demand for phones with dual asics - IS-95+1X? I hadn't thought about that before - the basestations are backward compatible but if they roam into an IS-95 only cell does that mean the 1X can't "dropdown" to IS-95 - that the phone would need a separate IS-95 chip?
