qwik, here's one for you. When was the last press release you saw on jini and what was the price of suncom?

Well, er, um...let's see, the last mention of Jini...well, it wasn't actually a press release. It was when Bill Joy was being interviewed on the Charlie Rose show on PBS. He was warning Rose about the dangers of future technology. One of the dangers was that these new tiny "nano-machines" in a few years would be small and smart enough to get inside the human body and take over, maybe turning us into creatures the Lord had never intended. He said to Charlie Rose that he hoped these evil devices wouldn't be running Jini, but that they probably would, and it might even get to a point where there were so many of these things you would need one E10000 per person as a server. Rose said, "E10000? Isn't that a pretty old machine?" Joy said it might be the E10000 because the UltraSparc III might still not be out by the time the nano-machines take over.

I think Sun was at $61 (split-adjusted).
