Beans,

Got cha beat.

Electric - $207.64
Gas - $592.46

Total $800.10

Shit.

Actually that is better than it was right after we bought the house. At that point in time the whole thing was hydronic heating with the boiler, of course, and no forced air or anything. Since the house is built out of pre-stressed concrete beams, in the summer the humidity and smell of wet cement was unbearable. So....we installed an air conditioning system to take care of the humidity and of course had the added benefit of central air in the summer. We had to put in ducts in the bedroom wing to make it work. The rest of the house is pretty much handled by the placement of the unit.

Anyway, prior to that, was in about 95, maybe 96, I remember a gas bill, alone, of over $800. Since then, with the air exchange unit and being run year round (the fan), the bills have dropped considerably...thankfully....and the overall evenness of the heat has improved.

So, have I had it worse? Yes....

But still, this hurts.
