Maybe President Bush can help simplify this mess. Frankly, I'd rather pay a penalty than overpay, and I figured the penalty I would have paid (not using 2210) last year was insignificant (about 2% of the estimated tax payment sent in this month) based on the gain and tax due. If that gain would have been in the first quarter rather than the fourth, I could have more than recouped the penalty by the end of the year - with realized and/or unrealized gains.

Boy, investing in IRAs sure is a lot easier. That's where I gained my experience.
