I haven't really looked into why AVX has been generally at a premium to KEM. Maybe the ROE is better (I haven't checked) or AVX's greater diversification has been more attractive or AVX's R&D has appeal or something else. Or maybe it's just the way it's been trading, which is all I cared about for my spread plays. I figured that the market is its own message and it would continue to do what it had been doing until it began to do something else. In any case, in about four months I've had more than ten KEM/VSH and KEM/AVX spread plays, but I think it's over now for the time being because KEM should be the premium player. I suspect that Kemet's superior earnings will finally be the telling influence. In any case, all three will still generally move together.
