<ot>Hi Bob - from memory, I thought Mr Kurlak made the flipflop on MU. I could be wrong, since it was a long time ago. Yes, he has been bearish on the semi subsequently. At first, he was able to kurlaked the stks. After awhile, he did not appear to be as influential anymore.

You misunderstood my BOST comment. I believe [again I could be wrong, since it was back in 97/98.] ML has recommended BOST common while it was the underwriter of the prefer. My point is my skepticism, and many other people's, about the so call China Wall between the underwriter unit and the sell side analyst unit of the same outfit, whether ML is involved is more anecdotal. Hypothetically, if someone wants to float a few billion prefer papers, it is important to make sure the to be converted instrument is strong. Cynically, I suspect that is how BOST got to $42/shr with its common just before the prefers, H and G [?] hit the mkt. I think there was a detail writeup in either Fortune or Forbes.

best, Bosco
