IBM, Armonk, N.Y., is prepared to announce Friday that software maker PeopleSoft Corp., Pleasanton, Calif., has purchased 12 IBM servers, in a switch away from Sun Microsystems Inc. The servers will be used to run PeopleSoft's own PeopleSoft 8 servers, which will include a p680 SMP server and some H80 and S80 enterprise servers, an IBM spokeswoman said. A PeopleSoft representative did not return calls requesting comment..."
