Softbank To Set Up $120 Mln Life Science Investment Fund

TOKYO (Dow Jones)-- Softbank Corp. (9984) said Thursday it plans to set up a $120 million fund to invest in life science businesses such as genome technology.

Other companies such as Aozora Bank Ltd. will also participate in the fund which will invest mainly in Europe and then will extend to Asia.

The fund will be managed by a unit to be established by Softbank, it said.

The company regards life sciences as a key sector to promote digital information development, it added.

Maybe we should buy Cisco <G>. Their investment of 4200 yen seems to have risen to 7050 yen today in Japan and it would have gone higher if it were't for the usual trading limits. It's up another 10% or so in Germany. Nice investment Cisco. That's going to be a 75% gain in less than a week.
