No debate, but I enjoy talking with YYB. From the sound of your description of your personal manner of interaction, I'm glad I don't speak with you in the morning. One's manner of interaction generally shows through even when one tries to delete the "filthy" language. It's like trying to hide a twitch.

Silicon Investor is a quality community made up of the best and the brightest in the online-savvy investing community. That (and the wording of our Terms of Use) should be enough to guide one's behavior while participating here. under the light of the paragraph above, it is important to bring some details, to your attention, in public. as i understand it the mere provocation is against the TOFU's repeatedly there have been raids here and the LWP from members of the "bottom of the quality barrel", i.e. SI scum, that really makes you wonder how the hell the place is run. i am certain you know who these "rather dim individuals" are without that rubbish ... i assure you YYB's type of posts would not exist you make reference to people not making statements on a face to face basis... i agree, i can assure you that some of the comments made here against some of the posters would NOT have been made face to face. and if they were made, i can guarantee you that if i were to be present, apologies would have to be made. not stupid little retractions. in addition, the taunting that goes on repeatedly, would NOT be permitted by the rest of the audience. again, on a face to face basis. the infractors would have been hauled away already to the nearest funny farm station, or at the very least, they would have been kicked out of the establishment, with an accurate boot in the rear end. and at least 2 or 3 would be on their way to the nearest mental institution for further research. so... if you wield justice in such an easy manner, why not do it evenly ? we would all be better off, after all, the world is full of idiots, why allow them to gather in SI ? thank you for listening.

Bob: We're here for business Not on a Coffee Shop thread , we're not, as you yourself have pointed out. I certainly hope you have posted the same slap-on-the-hand on the RWET, one of whose posters (e-Bill) publicly admitted yesterday that he repeatedly posted questions here about sex education and oral sex just to see what they say. Let me know if you would like the post.

Bob, You may think: "If you don't understand what kind of conduct/language is inappropriate in such a venue, I really can't adequately explain it. I try, instead, to illustrate by example and, where necessary, administrative action. Folks (this isn't just for you, YYB), my "normal" way of speaking when among a small group of friends is, to be very kind, crude. When my friends and I greet each other in the morning, our language peels paint at 100 paces. But I would never dream of speaking that way here. At home, it's acceptable because of the venue. But I've always understood (as do the vast majority of the members here) that that kind of conduct needs to be left at the door when we enter SI. We're here for business.".... but you are, I respectfully submit, wrong. In this sort of nameless, faceless environment, people will resort to acting like children. Some type things here that they normally would not say to others face to face. Greta
