the downgrades are about getting out in front of a possible scenario where orders start dropping off because of the slow economy. that's a risk i'll take at these levels, because i think it is very small.

I'm a little more cynical. I think the downgrades are about getting in ahead of the very likely build-up in demand as carriers find new financing.
