The Blue Note is awesome. Since most acts play 3-5 nights there's no great demand for
any particular show. On week nights if you arrive a little more than an hour before show
time you can almost always get seats right in front, on weekends you'd probably have
to be a little earlier to get good seats. Who are you considering? Scofield? I saw him
there a little over a year ago with Ebeth. We had a great time. Pat Martino warmed up
and had Kenwood Dennard, my 2nd favorite drummer in his band, talk about pleasant
surprises! The food is decent but the portions are light. I recommend eating elsewhere
then drinking the minimum. BTW Branford's playing the Village Vanguard 2/20-2/25.
He was awesome when I saw him a few months ago in NJ. I love Branford's little
spots in the Ken Burns series. He's always funny and to the point. I find Wynton
annoying at times.
