As a cynic I say governments are good at only one thing...growing. A government will continue to grow until it collapses its host country under the weight of taxes, rules, regulations, and related government employees. The Libertarians perhaps recognize this and our trying to prevent it. I don't give them much hope but I wish them luck. In my view, even if they do manage to get into power they will only delay the inevitable as they themselves will eventually become what they are currently fighting against... In government, the corrupt rise to the top like scum on a pond. In a fair fight an honest man of equal ability has a equal chance against a corrupt man, but of course there is no such thing as fair in politics.
