Scumbria, You are not modest in your demands. You want the market to be at all time high during the election cycle (on top low unemployment, low inflation and good trailing growth numbers). What else was needed for Gore victory? Joe

Scumbria, Re: The massive decline in the stock market during the 5 months prior to the election was essential to get Bush elected. While I agree with the tone of the comment I disagree with the essence of it which I interpret as "If Greenspan & Co. hadn't jacked the interest rates up massively last year we wouldn't have Mr. Bush now as our Prez., and that's why he did it." I think he did it 'cause he's a dope that's paid by a banking system that'd just as soon see no economic progress. They seem to view life as a ZERO SUM GAME Simple as that! tgptndr
