Prions have been around for eons. It just so happens that there's a public company capable of testing it, so now you're getting blitzed by the media about it.

How would the bacteria destroy a nations oil supply? Introduce the bacteria into a pipeline? They're aerobic, couldn't survive. You'd have to leave that little detail out of your novel. In fact, the limiting factor in their ability to degrade oil is the availability of ox y gen.

Cheers.

*yawn* there was a really lame novel around 5 years ago that described an oil-eating bacteria gone awry that devoured all the plastic in the world.

hardly an original novel concept.

--------------------------
BTW- a variation on the icenine concept could be the oil eating bacteria proposed to manage oil spills. I'd conceived of a novel based on these, used by terrorists to destroy a nations oil supply.

<The discussion regarding the relative benefits of Steel studs vs Wood, and potential implications of a continuing energy crisis hold more interest for me. Maybe because I feel that's still somewhat in our sphere of influence.

Well for me the minute by minute, play by play is becoming tedious primarily because I'm not playing the indices (execpt sporadically through Pro-Funds.)

A discussion if issues which might affect certain sectors seems more entertaining at this time.

Your book idea sounds interesting.

So it's quite possible that our oil spill solution could learn sex from another bacteria, and truly create a new problem.

Remember the Jurassic Park chaos theoritician played by Jeff Goldblum, "Life finds a way...?"

Hey, why not. It will be a fiction piece afterall.

Oh my CNBC just reports Texas cows under quarantine for Mad Cow disease due to possible feed contamination from import violations. Mooo...
