(TSE:BHK. - news) is pleased to report the following diamond drilling results, supplied by Silver Standard Resources Inc., from a program of 54 reverse circulation and diamond drill holes totaling 4,479 metres at the Manantial Espejo silver-gold project in southern Argentina. Earlier results from the drill program were announced yesterday. Silver Standard has the option to acquire 50% of Black Hawk's interest in Manantial Espejo project. The exploration program is conducted, and the results are provided, by Silver Standard. Silver Standard's reported results include, bonanza grades over narrow widths (26.4 grams per tonne of gold and 6,189.4 grams per tonne of silver over 1.0 metre in T-176) and high-grade results over significant intervals (4.92 grams per tonne of gold and 444.3 grams per tonne of silver over 18.6 metres in T-178). Comprised largely of infill drilling results from the Union-Karina vein system, these results are expected to increase confidence in the continuity and grade of this zone. The Union-Karina system currently accounts for approximately 25% of resources totalling 42 million ounces of silver and 781,000 ounces of gold. Previously, Union/Karina provided high-grade intersections up to 61.3 grams per tonne of gold and 9,350 grams per tonne of silver over 0.5 metres. These latest results underscore both the high-grade silver and high gold values at the Manantial Espejo property, and Union-Karina. T-176 intersected 1.0 metre grading 26.4 grams per tonne of gold and 6,189.4 grams per tonne of silver. High-grade results were also obtained in holes T-177, T-178 and T-185, all of which also tested Veta Union. T-177 intersected two wide stockwork zones (approximately 24 metres each) in close proximity. T-178 intersected an 18.6 metre interval grading 4.92 grams per tonne of gold and 444.3 grams per tonne of silver with bonanza grades of 12.92 grams per tonne of gold and 1,534.9 grams per tonne of silver over 0.9 metres. T-185 intersected 11.74 grams per tonne of gold and 1,626 grams per tonne of silver over 1.4 metres. Results exceeding one kilogram per tonne of silver were also encountered in the Union Extension and Maria Hangingwall veins. The table that follows details the most significant results of Silver Standard's diamond drilling in 2000 on Veta Union, Veta Karina, Union Extension and the Maria Hangingwall. The samples were prepared by Bondar-Clegg Co. Ltd. at its office in Mendoza, Argentina and sent for assay at its laboratory in Santiago, Chile. The results are from using industry standard fire assaying with an atomic absorption finish and samples showing values greater than the upper detection limit were reassayed with a gravimetric finish. Silver Standard also reported that it has retained Pincock Allen & Holt to audit drill-defined resources at its core projects in Australia, Argentina and the United States, including the Manantial Espejo project. The audit will assist the company in complying with Canada's National Instrument 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, that takes effect on February 1, 2001. Black Hawk owns 80% of the Manantial Espejo project. The remaining 20% interest is held by a subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation. BLACK HAWK MINING INC. is an international mining and exploration company that operates the El Limon Mine in Nicaragua, and holds prospective gold/silver exploration properties in Nicaragua, Canada, Argentina and the United States. Black Hawk is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BHK. Mr. Michael Gareau Tel. 416/363-2911 Email: info@bhkmining.com Website: www.bhkmining.com Claude, The above is a good reason for today's move. I don't know when upgrade to El Limon reserves will be published. I don't worry about that as they have never had much reserves and the mine has run for over 40 years. Stephen
