True, I do not believe that alcoholism is a disease, and although it has been a while since I have read the Big Book since I am remaining sober by doing other works inside the alcohol abusive ranks, I have not seen it call alcoholism a disease. It is, definitely an addiction, but an addiction is still not a disease. When one first chooses to take a drink, instead of face his problems, it is making a wrong decision. You are the one that twisted that into "weak will", not me. I have walked the walk with AA, and have recommended it on many occasions when people have indicated they wanted help. I never said anything negative about AA. The mention of "crutch" was aimed directly at you in retaliation of the ignorance of your posts. I have found that the medical profession does not have a clue on how to treat alcoholism. It takes an ex-drunk to be effective, regardless of the venue. But one thing you cannot seem to understand is that, your way is not the only way. That is your approach on anything you say on this, or any other thread. You have your way of doing things that may or may not have some effect but, you are not the one that has the ONLY solution. You are not the one that knows the ONLY way to worship God, and Jesus Christ. You are nothing but another human being walking the Earth. If you were not so antagonistic about pressing your personal views on others, there would not be as much flak flying around this place. Look at your own posts from the past. You are the instigator of much of the negative atmosphere around here. You have your own axe to grind, and don't give a hoot for what anyone else thinks. I have a clue for you. You are not perfect. None of us are. Get used to it. ~H~
