lol. Your friend has a bone to pick, I'd say. Southern white male and the type of religious stuff I've heard about the inauguaration (however you spell it) don't go together. My Grandmother's greatest irritation was reserved for the "religious" people who tore her community apart. Have you heard of the book "Southern Cross"? Great reading for understanding the history of this region. When I read it and thought back on the timing of her talks it all clicked.

And to suggest you were giving the guy a pass because he was black indicates a sensitivity not born of reason.

he already has one strike against him in my book--that religious service that was billed as an inauguration ceremony. I don't know how he could talk about inclusion right in the middle of such an in-your-face demonstration of evangelistic Christianity!
