I remember my mother saying she was ironing when that news started coming across the TV (my dad was at work)....and it turned out my godfather worked for the Secret Service (not Presidential detail), and he and my godmother came over to our apartment to talk about it.....my mom told me they cried and cried about it...and my godfather seemed to think the shots came from the front (conspiracy, conspiracy).

Good grief. The Presidential funeral I remember was Roosevelt's! (FDR's., of course, not Teddy's. I'm not that old!)
