That is very commendable. You've earned points IMO. No matter what people say, unless it is violent or a single person divulging personal information, I can't see why there would be a sanction. But information, once out, can't be recalled or be made non-public. Simply repeating information that has already gone into the public domain can't possibly be an offense. Subsequent discussion of such information such as people's marital status can't possibly be considered private once out.
