WOW!.....Hollywood does carry some weight doesn't it.

We have friends who have children in Catholic school. It is up a notch from the public. But it seems the curriculum is weak and there is not much of a challenge for the students. Often my daughter will spend an hour and a half on homework at the 5th grade level. Those in the Catholic school will have 20 minutes of homework and it is nearly a full grade behind.

Unless you have the means to compare the choice can be done for all the wrong reasons.

I honestly believe my daughters school places too much emphasis on achievement. In 5th grade they are using 6th grade texts and the basic curriculum is already satisfactory. I often wonder if they do this to make us think we are getting more for our money.
