Hi Kid - nice to see you, and I appreciate the effort. Fact is, talking about God in public makes some folks feel uncomfortable, and some folks get mad. I, myself, don't feel uncomfortable when people talk about God, but I did feel very uncomfortable watching Gore deepthroat Tipper on stage during the Presidential convention - difference of opinion on that one, obviously.
I think that Rev. Graham's prayer was sort of heavy on the Christianity - it didn't bother me but I thought, when I heard it, that it would make non-Christians feel uncomfortable. Dubya, on the other hand, didn't mention God much, as your research demonstrates.

And a couple of years latter Carter was complaining about the people and their malaise. Guess we didn't live up to his expectations.<ggg>
