Eliz.,

Yes power is out here in Cali, but someone was speaking about it 6-8 months ago if you were reading the Stictlly Drilling Board here on SI. If we get a really cold Feburuary, the whole country could be w/o Natual Gas so all you other guys, I wouldn't be laughing at California. You know that old adage whatevers goes on in California eventually goes around to the rest of the country.

Betty, I have made the point a number of times on different threads in SI, that the Bush/Chenney team are doing a great disservice to the country by frightening every one that a recession is looming, I agree with AG that such an occurrence is unlikely, unless, consumer confidence is hit. When the Pres. keeps harping about a recession, the country may get it as a self fulfilling prophecy, just because confidence will be tarnished. Greenspan made the point about consumer confidence (and its relationship to an "unlikely" recession) a number of times today in his testimony. If B/C keep harping about a recession, we surely are going to get one. Right now, AG classifies the current malaise as just a "sharp inventory correction". We'll see.
