I believe that's it. Companies like PhotoEX (partially funded by JDSU) already have invented newer photonic networking technology that is yet to be deployed. When the next phase begins, the floor will drop out of the Ciscos and the roof will explode for JDSU. (IMHO) This market has become so narrowly focussed on split second information/timing that most are missing the big picture until it is well upon them.
